Effective date: March 25, 2026. This policy explains what information Lumos Books collects through lumos-books.com, how we use it, and how to contact us about privacy questions.

1. What We Collect

We collect only a limited set of information through the site:

Information you include in the contact form, such as your email address, inquiry type, and message.
Basic site-usage data collected through Vercel Web Analytics, such as page views, referrers, browser and device information, and request metadata used to understand aggregate traffic and site performance.

We do not run customer accounts on the site and we do not collect payment-card or shipping information.

2. How We Use Information

To respond to contact requests, school and library inquiries, and order-related questions.
To understand which pages and books are useful so we can improve the site.
To protect the site against abuse, spam, and technical misuse.

We do not sell personal information and we do not use your information for behavioral advertising.

3. Analytics and Cookies

Lumos Books uses Vercel Web Analytics. Vercel processes traffic and performance data for us so we can understand aggregate usage of the site.

4. Service Providers

We use third-party service providers to operate the site, including providers for:

Website hosting and analytics through Vercel.
Email delivery and contact-form routing when email services are configured.
Secure contact and subscriber record storage through Upstash Redis when that service is configured.

These providers process information only to help us run the site and related communications.

5. Retention

Contact messages are retained only as long as needed to handle the request and related follow-up.
Analytics data is retained according to the defaults and controls available in our hosting platform.

6. Your Choices

You can ask us to delete or correct personal information by emailing us.
You can contact us if you have questions about how your information is handled.

7. Children’s Privacy

The site can be viewed by readers of all ages, but we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 without appropriate consent. If you believe a child has submitted personal information to us, contact us and we will review and remove it where appropriate.
